Candy Crush Saga - Android Game Review

Candy Crush Saga is a title that is sure to be familiar with many people who use social media, even if they are not into playing games. For the past couple of months I have received Facebook requests for a game called Candy Crush. Then I noticed the majority of my friends posting about it.

From what I could gather, it was an addicting game that was being played by my young friends and older relatives alike. I vowed not to fall into the addiction until I finally decided to see what the hype was myself. Within only a couple of minutes, I was immediately addicted to Candy Crush Saga.

Candy Crush Saga Gameplay

The gameplay of Candy Crush Saga is so simple that almost anyone can figure it out right away. The concept is kind of similar to Tetris yet in the style of Bejeweled. There have been games like this on the popular children's website Neopets and spinoffs made by Nintendo for its Pokemon series. Basically, Candy Crush Saga is like Candy Land for adults. Players move along a game board as they progress through each level. Each level is set up with different layers of candy. These candy pieces look like Runts candy or fruit snacks. Each piece has a different color.

The object of the game is to match up a minimum pattern of three of the same colors. Once you make a match, the candies will disappear and the board will alter so that you can make other matches and combinations. If you match 4 or more of the same color you will get certain power-ups. As the game progresses, players will have to beat each board with an objective.

These objectives range from blasting off of the "jelly" off the candies or by bringing special candies to the bottom of the screen. There is no time limit but you do have a limited amount of moves so you will have to make each move wisely. The more you play, the more power-ups you will unlock. You can even connect to Facebook and play along with your friends.

Candy Crush Saga Graphics

The graphics in Candy Crush Saga are great. They are sharp and visually appealing and absolutely colorful, which is crucial to the point of the game. The longer you stare at the screen, the more your mouth will water for some candy of your own.

The graphics of this game are definitely top notch. There are also music and sound effects that come with the game, which fit very well with the graphics and overall point of the game. I recommend playing inside, however, because I sat outside and played and sometimes the screen was hard to see.
Candy Crush Saga  Sounds

There are some really good music and sound effects in the game.

Overall, Candy Crush Saga has indeed proved itself addicting, as I saw on my Facebook account. The game is so simple yet so intense. Every time you fail a level you will find yourself immediately starting it over in an attempt to go on. Since it is a huge Facebook fab, the challenge appeal of this game is as strong as ever. Everyone will want to beat their friends and climb to the top.

I have no regrets about downloading this game and I can definitely see myself continuing to play it as time goes on. If you are looking for a trendy and addictive game, try Candy Crush Saga.

I am creating a game where you leave a gingerbread house on a friends doorstep with a mission letter saying to pass it along someone elses door step with out eating it or trashing it before christmas. Any ideas on what the letter should say? This is for fun, no mean remarks please :)
P.S. I'm trying to make the letter sound like a top secret mission. I have a couple ideas but would love to hear yours.

Looking to have a house party with about 20 guests and need a few games to keep the evening light and fun.

Answer
If you search for bowtie christmas party games on google or yahoo you should get to a bowtieproducts site that will give you 4 new original games that will help make your nite fun.

Some of the games especially Sandys Christmas Carol game can be adjusted for nearly any age 8 and up.

For parties mixers like this work because they give folks something to do while they get warmed up to each other. if they want to talk, they can talk, but if conversatrion lags games like these take up the awkward silences that many of us dread.

Whats nice is that people don't all have to be in it to enjoy it. Some can just help out if asked or enjoy the groans of the answer section.

If links work in the answer blocks here's the link

there is also some party giving advice you may enjoy.

My wife and I made up the puzzles and many people really enjoy them.

I hope they work out well for you

benjemo_ra

My family wants to play a gift exchange game during chirstmas.
For ex: We open presents on chirstmas and we want to take time on opening out presents.
Do you got any ideas of what we can do?

Answer
A game that we play at one of our family get-togethers is called dirty santa (I've heard it called naughty santa as well)

Each family member who brought a gift draws a number and then when it comes to their number, they choose a gift. They can choose an unwrapped gift, or steal a gift that has already been unwrapped/taken by someone else.

If a person's gift is stolen they can choose a new gift or steal someone else's gift. We usually say that a particular gift that has been stolen three times is retired and can't be stolen again.

You continue to unwrap gifts or steal gifts untill each person has received a gift. The first person to open a gift gets to go last, and they can pick any gift they want (whether or not it's been retired).

It has always been a hit at our christmas get togethers! Maybe you will enjoy it, too! Merry Christmas!

I'm trying to make a math game for geometry and it is intended for elementary students. Nothing complicated. Something simple using materials that I can find at home and that doesn't require Shopping.

Answer
If you can find a copy of John Horton Conway's book "On Numbers and Games", it's full of great possibilities. Note that it's a serious mathematics book, with proofs and all. Nonetheless, the games are simple to understand.

Two of my favourites are Sprouts and Cutcake. See the first two links.

A non-Conway game is Dots and Boxes. See the third link.

What are some good math games for a special education high school math class?

It is Special Education and most of the students have learning disabilities. We are doing algebraic fractions with positive numbers. What can I do to help them learn and get them interested? I'd like to get them up and moving! The school is in an urban area and we have no access to computers.

Answer
Anything that you can do with food gets the kids interested. Of course you have to buy it yourself, but sometimes it is worth it. You can use the food to divide and make fraction problems. Maybe bake a cake (less expensive) and have them figure out how to cut it so there are enough pieces for everyone. That of course is a basic thing, but useful in everyday life. (And it is not expensive to bake your own cake).

As for games, you can make a simple board game on paper. Then make a set of problems and cut them apart and put them in envelopes. Have the kids play in small groups of 4. They can use coins or torn pieces of paper as markers. In order to move the # of spaces that they roll they have to get the answer right. Give candy to the winner; or a homework pass.

Fly swatter game; put several random answers on the board. Prepare problems ahead of time so that you have answers that will match them. Get 2 different colored fly swatters. Give a problem that they can solve in their head, or give them a section on each side of the board to work it out. The first person to swat the correct answer scores a point for their team. Remind them that they cannot hit each other, and that you are the sole judge in determining who was first. When it doubt call it a tie! Give candy to the winning team.

I have 6 rows in my class. Have them go up 1 member from each row. Give a problem. The first to solve it correctly gets a point and gets to try to make a basket (buy a basketball hoop and foam ball at the dollar store). It is really hard to make the baskets so I give 2 bonus points to the team if they make it. Give candy to the winning row. I have the kids work the problems at their seats too and hand it in. That way ALL are actively involved instead of just talking to each other and not paying attention.

Make a checker board with problems. In order to move to a spot they have to give the solution. If they are wrong then they cannot move there. Makes the game more interesting. I bought inexpensive bingo chips and keep them in plastic bags, sorted.

I have a whole list of ideas at school; this is all that I could come up with off the top of my head. I pull out my list when I need to come up with something new for my classes. Email me if you need more ideas.

Hope these work for you!

One more; concentration on the overhead. Use sticky notes to cover them up; have problems on one side and solutions on the other. They have to match up the problem to the solution. If they are right their team gets a point.

What are some fun math games for 2nd graders?

Azriel {Cr

I'm teaching a 2nd grade math class and I'm wondering if anyone has any easy and fun math games that the children might enjoy which would also help their math skills? I'm looking for anything I can do in the classroom with them - not computer or internet games.

A detailed explanation or links to resources would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Answer
Turn any lesson into a game simply by grouping students and have them compete against each other. Ask a math question and the first to respond gets the point.

Another game students like is math bingo.

Answer
I used to have a great computer programme called "I Love Maths"" and "I Love English!". They were made by Dorling Kindersley. They had lots of different activities related to maths and english questions and puzzles to do with calculations. You had to unlock different levels etc and visit different areas.

I'm not sure what age they were for but i remember questions on fractions and decimals etc so i think thats probably about the right age?
